With Original Remedy you connect with a Canadian licensed doctor for your medical care straight from your computer, laptop, phone or tablet. You can message your healthcare team 24/7. With the monthly subscription option, you can maintain a consistent relationship with the same healthcare provider rather than being assigned to different physicians with each visit. This ensures continuity of care with a doctor who is familiar with your health history and concerns. We know it can be frustrating to see a different doctor each time and that accessing your own family physician may be challenging.     We provide treatments for common healthcare conditions, preventative care and skincare - all accessible from the comfort of your home.

    Simply register for the patient portal and we will connect you with a healthcare provider.

    Our doctors can assess symptoms, prescribe medications and provide treatment recommendations. If your doctor thinks your condition requires in-person care, they may tell you to go to a clinic for an in person assessment.

  • After creating an account, you will have access to your patient portal so you can message your provider through a secure messaging platform. A medical assessment will be performed by one of our healthcare practitioners. With a one time visit, you will have 7 days after the assessment to message your provider. With a monthly membership you will be able to message your provider at anytime.

    Prescriptions if deemed appropriate will be sent to your local pharmacy.

  • Asynchronous messaging allows patients and providers to message each other at different times enabling flexibility.

  • Yes. When you use the pay-per-visit option, you will be able to message with your healthcare team within your patient portal for an additional 7 days at no additional cost. This allows you time to:

    Ask follow-up questions you may have about your treatment plan.

    • Tell your healthcare team if you have experienced any side effects from your medication or determine if your treatment plan needs to be adjusted

    • Tell your team if there's an issue getting your treatments with the pharmacy.

    • To let our care team know that you're feeling better.

    If you have a separate unrelated concern from the concern addressed in your initial pay per visit consultation or have questions after the 7 day post visit window, you'll need to start a new visit.

  • If your provider can’t diagnose or determines your health issue cannot be treated online, they may recommend that you see a local physician for in-person care.

  • Certain symptoms may indicate a medical emergency and an online doctor will likely recommend you see an in person physician or go to your local emergency room. These concerns may include but are not limited to the following:

    • Shortness of breath, wheezing or any other breathing difficulty

    • Chest pain or symptoms of a heart attack or heart disease eg. palpitations

    • Severe abdominal pain

    • Severe headache

    • Symptoms concerning for a possible stroke including facial droop, numbness, slurred speech or difficulty moving a body part

    • Anaphylaxis type symptoms including swollen tongue or lips

    • Vaginal bleeding

    • Bleeding in the stool

    • Dizziness or syncope

    • Suicidal thoughts or active psychosis

    • Certain pregnancy related concerns

    • Recent accident or complications from a recent surgery

    • Eye symptoms including severe eye pain, decreased vision or light sensitivity

    • Ear pain or possible ear infection

    • Open wounds, certain MSK injuries

    • Forms including preoperative exams or WSIB claims
